Artist's Comments

This brownish dead looking rose created some time ago is made with coffee filters. It took some time to complete as it consisted of millions of singular petals to cut out. But overall the process was fun and I had a good time making it :)

Just two wishes regarding this project:
1. Can anyone possibly tell me where can I find white coffee filters in Sydney? Brown roses look just not not right *dead*! Your help will be greatly appreciated!
2. ...I wish I had some better watercolours for colouring the petals.

Once again, enjoy!

Materials: Coffee filters, watercolour pencils, floral wire, floral tape

I can see you've put a lot of work into this and it looks really realistic. I like your choice of paper, even if you don't. I think the dead look has a certain charm to it!

Ah ha ha, thank you for your comment!

But you see the stubborn brown paper is a bit hard to colour as well...
:iconadreanna:
I can understand that!
You can have a fine range of colours: Brownish-green, brownish-red, brownish-blue, brownish-yellow... no wait, that last one is just brown. :giggle:

I love the work you've done here, it does look really realistic :]
I can see why you would want a white rose, but I also quite adore the brown- it's rather unique.

Also, that is one awesome photo~

Thank you! Yes it does look rather realistic, and I'm happy about that :D
...Now that I think about it, it's like 'Woah I was so bothered!'

I think I wanna make another one, someday...

Remembering the future sure is hard!

It's no problem :]
You should, you are really talented at making them ^^
